Statement:

As a minister of the Universal Ministries and an empowered individual in search of the truth, I Rev. Mike do declare the following beliefs:

1: That I subscribe first and foremost to the ideal that I shall Do that which is right, live a fruitful life, and hurt no one intentionally.

2: That every individual has the right to pursue the truth that is his or her own. Therefore no other individual or organization has the right to define the truth for that individual.

3: That for the last 2000 years, certain organizations and individuals have aggressively pursued not enlightenment but control of the individual (in the name of enlightenment). And this practice continues yet today. I do not believe this practice to be just and resolve not to become a part of the mass brainwashing perpetrated by these individuals and/ or organizations.

4: I believe that the first step on the path to enlightenment is acceptance of ones own responsibility. That taking responsibility for ones own actions will do more good than all of the charity in the world. Understanding how your own actions affect everyone and everything around you will lead to a better world and therefore a better life.

5: I believe that God gave us a sense of humor because God has one too. I believe we need to perfect the use of that humor. That through laughter, we lighten all of our daily burdens. Laughter is a gift that we all need to use more often but it can be misused against an individual. If you must laugh at a person, make that person yourself. (See doctrine #1 above.)

6: Know that when I use the words the truth I really mean a truth. I believe that the real truth is a series of individual truths. The individual one at a time must discover these truths. It is through this process of discovery that someday the greater truth shall be revealed to us.

Lastly, I beg you not to follow me any further than this document. Please pursue your own path to enlightenment. Endeavor to find your own truths. Know that as you walk this path, you will encounter others seeking the same thing. Help each other and respect others individual beliefs. Engage in seeking your own truths for that is how I arrived here. I promise the only thing I ask of anyone is Do that which is right, live a fruitful life, and hurt no one intentionally.
